Halloween is fast approaching and as trick-or-treating is out of the question for anyone over the age of twelve, why not throw a party instead? It doesn’t have to be all dangling skeletons and garish flashing lights (if that’s your bag, keep an eye out for next week’s blog post), for a more sophisticated Halloween bash read on for my buying guide.
You’ll need a nice big table to put all your drinks and snacks on, so our Rustic Oak 6’8” Extending Table (4) is ideal as it will give you plenty of room for everything.
The Halloween wreath from Etsy (1) will look great either on your front door to welcome your guests, or laid flat in the centre of your table with a large white pillar candle in the middle as a decorative centrepiece. You’ll need a large tray for picky bits of food, such as sandwiches or canapés, so the black Alessi Foix Tray from House of Fraser (7) is perfect as its crumpled edge design fits in well with the Halloween theme. A large black bowl, such as the Skull Print Serving Bowl from Asda (6) is perfect for crisps, and you can re-use it for apple bobbing if you’re having a kids Halloween party as well. A big jug is a must for your drinks and to keep with the theme pick one like the Black LSA Basis Jug from House of Fraser (8). Spooky wine glasses like the one featured from Etsy (2) will help set your guests’ teeth on edge (NB: it’s probably not a good idea to give these to people with a chronic fear of spiders in case they get dropped on the floor in terror!). You’ll need a bottle opener for anyone drinking beer and the Alessi Diabolix Red Bottle Opener from House of Fraser (3) looks like a mini vampire, so it will fit in well with the Halloween theme. When the party is in full swing, you might find you need some shot glasses so the Silver Skull Shot Glasses from Asda (5) are a must – and they’re a bargain at just £2 for a pack of 4.
